certain, sure

这两个词都有“确定”、“肯定”的含义，其区别在于：

certain作表语来表达程度时，比sure语气强烈。当主语的先行词为it时，常用certain。注意，说sb. is certain to do sth.时，意思为“他肯定会做某事的”，表示“将要发生什么事”；而说sb. is certain of doing sth.时，其含义为“他觉得肯定会发生某事”，表示“某人的思想状态”。

I am not only sure；I am certain.我不但有把握，我还敢肯定。

Manchester are certain(或sure) to win.曼彻斯特队肯定会赢。

We felt quite sure(或certain) of winning.我们对获胜很有把握。
